The final day of this June’s Camberley International Festival will once again be celebrated with the Camberley Carnival.
The Camberley Carnival was reintroduced last year after a break of over a decade and proved to be a huge success with the colourful parade through Camberley Town Centre featuring the Sikh Association, Camberley Nepalese (Gurkha) Society, The Mayor of Surrey Heath, the Sandhurst Silver Band, Camberley Theatre, local gymnastic and sports clubs, brownies and schools. The streets were lined with members of the public waving flags and cheering.
This year’s Carnival and parade will take place on Saturday 23rd June and Surrey Heath Borough Council are inviting local businesses, schools, community groups and associations to take part.
The theme this year is the Animal Kingdom. For anyone wanting to make flags or animal themed artwork to wave along the parade route, Camberley Theatre will be hosting a drop-in art workshop from 10 – 11:30am on the day.
There will also be a whole afternoon of excellent free entertainment taking place after the parade at the London Road Recreation Ground (behind The Arena), these details will be announced soon.
